The Mission of DCXC

Expose youth to the sport of running primarily via scholastic cross country and track distance programs; Increase the participation levels  of competitive and non-competitive student-athletes in established scholastic programs; Encourage lifelong habits including healthy sportsmanship and balanced lifestyles through sports team participation; Identify programs in either underserved and/or underdeveloped programs in the greater Washington DC region and provide support to bring programs to competitive levels; Support distance running coaching  through sponsored coaching clinics, coaches networking, recognition programs, and grants; Provide grants for team fundraising such as uniforms, equipment, and travel; Support training & competition facilities through the development and/or access to safe facilities. Develop a collegiate scholarship program for standout student-athletes; Become THE distance running POWERHOUSE and advance the District of Columbia and metro area as the distance and track powerhouse.
